What are project milestones and tasks, and how do I add or delete project tasks and cards?
Project milestones and tasks are where a project is divided into different sections by the Hirer, with each section having its own brief description, deadline and/or requirements.
Dividing the project into smaller sections (i.e. tasks) helps both the Hirer and the professional to complete the project with more ease and accuracy.
To access your Project milestones and tasks, you need to go to your Project Workstream through your account. Click on the WORKFLOW tab, where you will see three different categories of task cards, including: TO DO, IN PROGRESS, and DONE. Each of these is explained further, below.
- TO DO tasks are all the tasks initially listed by the Hirer that a professional needs to complete. To add a new TO DO (or any other) task, just click on the + Add Task link at the bottom-left-corner of you TO DO task card, and provide a brief explanation for that task before pressing Save. You can click on each task you have created and provide a more detailed description, assign it to the right person, attach files to it, and add deadlines. You can also send and receive comments on each task individually by using the comments section of each individual task description box.
- IN PROGRESS tasks are all the tasks that the professional is currently working on.
- DONE tasks are all the tasks that have been completed by the professional and have been reviewed and approved by the Hirer. The Hirer will move each task from the IN PROGRESS bar to the Completed bar as soon as they have reviewed and approved them.
To move tasks from the one card to another, simply click on the task using the drag-and-drop feature, and release the task in the appropriate card/column.
You can add new tasks to each card using the same method described for the TO DO tasks, above.
To add a new task card, simply click on the + Add Card button on the right-hand-corner of your WORKFLOW page, and enter a new name for your task card.
You could 'Archive' the task cards that you have either already completed or have no longer any use for, in order to make space for new cards and to make your WORKFLOW more organised. To do this, click on the ellipsis (i.e. three dots) next to each task card and click on Archive.
To view your Archived tasks, turn on the slide Archived button at the top of your page.
