This is a prime opportunity to join a vibrant and innovative company based in Sheffield, UK.

As a Senior Unity Development Engineer, you will be working as part of the simulator team developing tools for the automation of world building. Import of real-world scenes and the rapid creation of variants based on them is a critical part of being able to simulate the environments of interest. Automation of this function with the ultimate aim of using AI to drive the creation of convincing photo-realistic scenes is the objective and you will be a key player in bringing this cutting-edge technology to market.


Requirements:

  • 5 years direct, hands-on experience with Unity’s scripting API.
  • 2 of technical leadership experience in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Unity’s scripting API. Full commitment to keep up with and make best use of the fast-changing features of Unity. Ability to extend or modify the core behaviours of Unity where needed
  • Superior abilities in C# required.
  • Comfortable in Windows or Linux

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a distributed team
  • Ability to give leadership in a meritocratic peer to peer environment
  • Propose and implement solutions for product requirements in response to technical market requirements.
  • Lead the efforts of junior engineers and provide mentoring where appropriate.

As a Senior Engineer you will create development plans for your work and track the execution of the design work to the plan. Report development progress to management.  A strong interest in creating behaviourally driven, self-governing worlds is a bonus.

 

Qualification

Good technical degree (BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng) in computer science or equivalent experience


Remote working from home until Q4 this year. Followed by Hybrid working - Up to 2 days remote working and 3 days in the office(Sheffield, UK).
