internationally? If you do, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to
join a prestigious semiconductor company based in Oxfordshire, UK.
The Production Technician will be responsible for supporting the building of all assemblies required to complete the build and test within the Operations team. The Production Technician will undergo extensive training that ensure our products meet internal and external customer requirements for performance and reliability. The role would suit an energetic individual looking to progress their career in an Electro/Mechanical environment with opportunities for international travel.
Responsibilities
- Build and test complex sub-assemblies and assemble the tools to the necessary standard using build and Test documents
- Identify and report problems with manufacturing
- Assist the manufacturing team in maintaining and improving processes and manufacturing quality
- Support the NPI Manager in delivering on time product to the customer
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the production and cleanroom areas
- Kitting of assemblies to the BOM when required
- Work at overseas manufacturing sites when required
- Quality and Stock Control when required
- Support the Operations team in maintaining a high standard of Health and Safety across the business
Essential Qualifications
- Over 5 years practical experience in a manufacturing technician role
- Good understanding and experience in Electronics, Mechanical engineering and Optics
- An educational qualification (e.g. HND or degree) in a relevant discipline (e.g. electromechanical assembly, Physics or Mechanical Design)
- Experience of building and testing complex high technology products
- Experience of wiring/soldering to IPC standards
- Experience of working with engineering development and release into a product (i.e. Product Life Cycle)
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in written and oral technical English
Desirable skills
- Experience in manufacturing within the Semiconductor field would be a major advantage
- Experience of building and testing any or all of optical systems including lasers and fibres, electronics, electro-mechanics would be an advantage
- Experience of working within a Cleanroom environment
- Understanding of Quality Control and/or Manufacturing engineering
Personality
An individual with good hand to eye co-ordination who can demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and a high level of technical ability. Be able to think on their feet when required.
